Iron is an important mineral which plays a vital role in the growth & development of the body. It is the major component of the protein, hemoglobin which makes up the body's red blood cells. It helps transfer oxygen across the body & is also needed for several metabolic activities. It helps in the formation of certain hormones too. Foods rich in iron are non vegetarian foods, eggs, beetroot, spinach, methi to name a few. Now, here is the catch....you need to know that iron absorption in the body is enhanced in the presence of vitamin C. So, as you step up your dietary iron...make sure to step up vitamin C intake too !! I've made a yummy post meal mouth freshner with grated & sun- dried amla, beetroot. Added some black salt to give it that tangy twist. Do try it ! 😊😊
