🍑Hip openers are a class of yoga postures that target the muscles and joints of the hips, thighs, and lower back, helping to increase flexibility, reduce tension, and improve mobility. 🍑The major muscles engaged in hip openers include the hip flexors, glutes, piriformis, and adductors. 🍑Hip opener postures, such as pigeon pose, lizard pose, and butterfly pose, help to stretch and release tension in the hip flexors, as well as the glutes, piriformis, and adductors. This can improve range of motion in the hips and pelvis, alleviate lower back pain, and increase circulation to the area. 🍑The hips are often associated with emotional holding and tension, and opening the hips can release emotional blockages and promote feelings of groundedness and stability.
