Is fat the only culprit for FATTY LIVER DISEASE ? The answer is NO....an over consumption of fructose & carbohydrates too can lead to this condition. Read on to know how !!!

Liver is the largest organ in the body which helps digest food, store energy in the form of fat & remove toxins. An excess build up of fat leads to FATTY LIVER DISEASE which is of 2 main types: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) & Alcoholic fatty liver disease - the cause for this being alcohol abuse. In NAFLD, over time, due to excess fat build up, the liver cells are gradually replaced by fat cells. When we eat a meal containing sugar, our bodies break it down into glucose, some being used immediately, for energy, while the rest is saved as fat, for later use. So, while trying to take control of this condition, eat a healthy diet & exerciseregularly. Limit salt and sugar, plus include lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Look out for Hidden sugars or HFCS found in most packaged & restaurant made foods ( esp gravies ,sauces & salad dressings). Sweet drinks, fruit juices & fruits are other major sources of concentrated sugar. So, use cautiously.
