Hi Suzane! Hormone profile is important in diagnosing PCOS, because PCOS is an endocrine/hormonal disorder. Your body produces more male hormones, the reason why your body doesn't ovulate regularly hence the irregular periods. To primarily test for if you have PCOS or not the testosterone & androgen levels are tested. Presence of multiple other symptoms makes the diagnosis easier though.
