Dry skin and pregnancy

Does pregnancy aggravate dry skin? Winters are not really helping with dry skin. Any tips for the same?

Hey Lekha Pregnancy does dry the skin. Winters too make the skin dry. You can apply coconut oil or olive oil in your skin. These have intense moisture. You just need couple of drops. One more tip: do not take too long shower in hot water as it also dries the skin. Hope it's helpful🌱

Pregnancy involves hormonal changes which may result in dry skin. So, there are chances that your body is getting dehydrated which is causing the dryness. So, try stepping up your fluid intake( water, coconut water, buttermilk, fresh soups can help ). Avoid adding too much salt as this may dehydrate you further. Try using pink salt in moderation instead.

Hi Lekha , pregnancy can cause dry skin due to hormonal changes which leads to the loss of moisture from the skin . Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated . You can also incorporate good fats in your diet to improve your skin . You can also use some good moisturizer according to your skin type or use coconut oil or olive oil. Hope this helps .
