What Is Postpartum Depression & How To Help Someone With It❓

After birth the mother goes through a whirlwind of emotions, which can make her feel fear, anxiety & excitement altogether. This is BABY BLUES. It can last from 2-3 days after birth for the next 2-3 weeks. But if these symptoms are more severe & last longer it can be Postpartum Depression(PD) . This needs treatment & care , in absence of these PD can advance & lead to postpartum psychosis which is an extreme mood disorder which can be dangerous for both mom & baby. Now what are the signs of postpartum depression- 📍Severe mood swings & depression 📍Severe crying spells 📍Difficulties bonding with the baby 📍Withdrawing from family & friends 📍Loss of appetite or overeating 📍Insomnia or sleeping too much 📍Extreme fatigue 📍Loss of interest in activities that the mother used to enjoy 📍Anger 📍Hopelessness & feeling of worthlessness or guilt 📍Inability to concentrate 📍Severe anxiety or panic attacks Now symptoms can vary.
