More than flat abs, focus on building entire core strength. Your core muscles play a huge role in everyday activity, right from getting out of bed in the Morning to walking down the street. Most importantly it’s helps you to stay upright the entire day. That’s because your core muscles are base of support for the entire body. They completely surround and support your spine and pelvis and connect your upper body and your lower body. Your abs are not just one muscle, the deepest abdominal muscles which is most important Transverse abdominis, which stabilise ur spine and pelvis, then two layers of obliques which supports movements of the spine. The topmost muscles is the rectus abdominis muscles and this is the muscle you see as six pack, which flexes your torso forward. So when you talk about your whole core than your abs, it also involves your pelvic floor muscles, the back muscles that stabilise your spine and your diaphragm. So work on strengthening your entire core.
