Asmita I Have An Underactive Thyroid, Do I Have to Completely Avoid Spinach & Cruciferous Vegetables ❓

No. You don't need to totally eliminate them from your diet.🔊 It's true that cruciferous & green leafy vegetables like - cauliflower, cabbage, brocolli, lettuce, spinach, kale, brussels sprouts etc. contain goitrogenic compounds. Which can interfere with your thyroid glands function by inhibiting itsy iodine absorption.❌ But the trick here is how much you consume these & how you prepare them. And keeping a variety of other vegetables & food items in your diet💡 If you cook your green leafy vegetables & cruciferous vegetables properly (steaming, normal cooking. Avoid overcooking)most of their goitrogenic compounds get broken down. And eating them in moderation will not interfere with your thyroid function.✔️ It's important to not take them raw or undercooked & in large amounts.📝 The same rules apply to people with Hashimoto disease.🌈
