I was screaming into a pillow. Everyone expected me to be a certain kind, to look a certain kind and the societal construct which dictates how and what a girl.. oops, I mean woman is supposed to be like. I was doing well in my career, being a part of a great organisation with ample support and somehow I wasn't happy. I cried myself to sleep every night and hoped for things to change somehow. But things changed when I had a anxiety attack in office 6 months ago- it seemed like a wake up call. I decided to take some time off work and dedicate my time to my own personal journey. I seeked help when I needed it the most. 6 months ago,I wasn't even able to type out an email and today, I feel like myself again with the support of family and a few close friends. The journey was nothing but rough but I'm glad it happened. The anthem of my school was lead kindly light. And I hope to be the light in someone's world :)
