1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
30 g jaggery
1/4 tsp baking soda
½ cup corn kernels
In a kadhai add 1 tbsp oil and ½ tbsp butter. Once it’s hot add the kernels & let them pop.
After the popcorn is ready set it aside.
In the same pan add ½ tbsp. of the butter, once it’s hot add the jaggery, and stir it until it is golden brown & you can smell the caramel.
At this point add the baking soda & stir it well. The mixture will swell & it’ll turn to a light brown color.
Now turn off the gas, add the popcorn to the caramel mixture, and coat well while hot.
Let the popcorn cool down & turn crispy. Your homemade caramel popcorn is ready. Enjoy!
