salt to taste

250 gm chicken with bone

1 tsp red chilli powder (optional)

1 tsp coriander seeds powder

1 tsp green chilly paste (optional)

1 big onion finely chopped

2 big tomatoes finely chopped

6-7 curry leaves

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tsp garlic paste

2 cups of water (for cooking)

1 tbsp oil

1 tsp turmeric powder

2 tbsp lemon juice


Marinate the chicken with lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander seeds

powder, ginger, garlic, and green chili paste for 2 hours.

Heat oil in a pan. Add curry leaves and cumin seeds.

Once they start to splutter add onions and saute till translucent brown.

Now add tomatoes and saute till the skin of tomatoes separates.

Add marinated chicken, 2 cups of water, and sautee for 3-4 minutes.

Cover with a lid and cook for another 35-40 minutes or until chicken is tender.
